Daily
Day after day - countless days
They look the same, you find yourself
In a deadlock again
Unbodied you wonder within your dreams
without a face, colorless
And engulfed by fear
Wasted nights you pile up inside!
Do you still wait for the new day-light?
So special you are each of the days
The endless line of different faces
Is spreading behind
Do you still cry for these days
You snake off, you commit yourself
You keep going again
Wasted nights you pile up inside!
Do you still wait for the new day-light?
Day after day - countless days
They look the same, you find yourself
In a deadlock again
Unbodied you wonder within your dreams
without a face, colorless
And engulfed by fear
Wasted nights you pile up inside!
Do you still wait for the new day-light?
Autobiography
I started like everyone else - with a second-hand guitar
I didn’t have a penny but I wanted to be a star
I was a school-boy when I played first in a band
From the start it was a game but then I knew I’ll stay
Then I played in other bands, I heard new chords and styles
And other guys, and other places, and I always had to smile
Now in front of a mirror in a second class hotel
"God, I’m so tired of this!", I think to myself
And now? - Somehow…
What’s the game? - Always the same…
I know my story is not a hit
But I swear I said the truth
Now I have what I’m looking for
And I feel it’s wrong
Now what?
And now what?
I had happy days - we played all night long
Drinking home-made brandy, my girl was by my side
A strange thing happened - it’s no longer the same
I have the glory now but I lost the game
And now? - Somehow…
What’s the game? - Always the same…
I know my story is not a hit
But I swear I said the truth
Now I have what I’m looking for
And I feel it’s wrong
Now what?
And now what?
Crossroads
Alone in the twilight, with a hollow head
Some thought barely wading through
Long time ago I’ve taken this way
How many more steps will take me beyond
I could see my goal–the road strewed with
fences, traps, intrigues, deceit,
but I took it anyway
We were many, a whole crowd
All determined to play this game
Closing my eyes, I was waiting for the sign
Thinking only – victory!
Then we took the road strewed with
fences, traps, intrigues, deceit,
We were going this way
Somebody fell there, other one screamed,
A third one perished for a water sip
Yet another one betrayed by his brother’s lips
The fifth one was dying with a flower in hand
I see my goal – the road strewed
with fences, traps, intrigues, deceits,
People, fates, empty eyes
Pains, wounds, hatred, threats
No, I don’t wan’na go there! I don’t want this way!
No, I don’t wan’na go there! I don’t want this way!
Tongue-twister
Once upon a time, through nine mountains on the tenth, there was a village. Near the village was a cave and in the cave lived a dragon. The village was well-to-do and it paid calmly its tribute to the dragon – a sheep every month. But the dragon grew bigger and raised the tribute – a sheep every week. Peasants paid off, paid off… Until their payment finished. Then appeared a man, called Peter, he started to wattle a hedge against the dragon. Peter wattled and wattled, through three perches intertwisted it and at the end – finished the hedge.
The dragon came and pushed it – Peter propped the hedge up, the dragon pushed – he propped up… Finally the hedge fell down and the dragon burned the village to ashes.
Since then a proverb exists:
Peter can wattle a hedge alone,
But later on the whole village have to prop up!
Peter wattles a hedge
Through three perches intertwines it
Prop up Peter the hedge
The hedge is going down!
Peter wattles a hedge
Through three perches intertwines it
Prop up Peter the hedge
The hedge is going down!
Prison
Gloomy sodden hole with stone walls
No noise anywhere, not even a beam of light
You’ve walled in yourself with your own hands -
to hide your face from their sight.
But you can hear footsteps, pounding, voices.
Shivers running down your spine but there’s nowhere to go!
You think you can withstand till the end
That's how you can get on your feet
To keep away from evil glances,
Not to love again, betting with your life
But you can hear footsteps, pounding, voices.
Shivers running down your spine but there’s nowhere to go!
Proud for being brave, in fact you are afraid
That somebody else could control your fate
You know you cannot withstand anymore
See, they are outside in front of your walls
But you can hear footsteps, pounding, voices.
Shivers running down your spine but there’s nowhere to go!
Strange Man
A long time ago a weird man lived
For all the pain he had a relief
He wanted to make everyone feel good
Give up his own dreams even he would
But things rarely happened this way
He worked out a system witch he obeyed
He was always ready to go
Man of principles, man of the law
Come on devote yourself
Don’t try to spare yourself
But save a tiny part
Where all the faulty truths
Made up by you in vain
Are neatly piled
Everything went as he had foreseen
Until he knew he’d lost his dreams
He was really unable to move
Tied up by his rules
Come on devote yourself
Don’t try to spare yourself
But save a tiny part
Where all the faulty truths
Made up by you in vain
Are mealty piled
Confession
I don’t know what has happened, something changed in me
But I can see you now, the way you used to be
As if we haven’t been together for so many days
I am looking at you anew, wondering if it’s you?
I’m thinking how could it be?
I can see you at last after all days passed
In this eternal moment the time has fully ceased
Distant and unreal the world around us stilled
And we stood in silence with subtly touching hands
With faces dazzled by joy, wearing childlike smiles
I’m thinking how could it be?
I can see you at last after all days passed
I don’t know what has happened, something changed in me
But I can see you now, the way you used to be
As if we haven’t been together for so many days
I am looking at you anew, wondering if it’s you?
I’m thinking how could it be?
I can see you at last after all days passed
Er Malak
Don’t know if I’m a letter rr maybe just a sign
But I’m here and there and then gone once again
Some see me as a personality but others say I’m just a wimp
I’m confused a lot! Am I real or am I not?
You are a naïve fool! With a thick empty head
And you should know you’re null without money and homestead
Living somehow strangely, maybe in a world of dreams
I’m watching through the cage bars the others running freely
You are a naïve fool! With a thick empty head
And you should know you’re null without money and homestead
I’m digging holes in the sand. I’m saving every cent
Sometimes this makes me think "why am I not turning bad?" Why?
In spite of all the truths I’m spreading out my hands
Waving and I’m flying away, only God knows where to…
You’re a naïve fool! With a thick empty head
And you should know you are null without money and homestead
I am a low, vicious, harmful
I am a total idiot
But even being so little
I’m still part of this people
Bulgarians
Blue mountains rising high
In hundred years the wars were five
And the rivers and the lakes
In hundred years – five overthrown states
The Balkan range in the midst and the sea at the edge
More mountains across and the Danube river flows
The sky is high, The forests - green
Peaks covered with snow and rivers full of fish
But leave nature aside. Let’s talk about the people!
Describe the kind of folk, how they bear the toil...
We are poor, we are shabby but we are not beggars
We are tough so to say but we are not fools
And with some we are strict, and with others we are fair
We are full of ideas, we are smart - but to what degree?
Winter, snow and ice then the spring rain comes
In the summer – scorching heat, followed by the autumn rye
Ripening wheat, honeyful fruits
Thin-fleeced herds, chaste snowy crests
But leave nature aside. Let’s talk about the people!
Describe the kind of folk, how they bear the toil...
We are poor, we are shabby but we are not beggars
We are tough so to say but we are not fools
And with some we are strict, and with others we are fair
We are full of ideas, we are smart - but to what degree?
The Mirror
I hate to look at myself in the mirror
‘Cause all that I see cannot be me
How have I turned into such a brute?
Is it a hog or a huge mammoth?
Ee – it’s so tough! E-e it’s so gross!
Ee – it’s so tough! E-e it’s so gross!
I love to eat and this is no joke -
Five times per day and three times per night
Then when I creep out in the dusk
A snack in my bag is always a must
Ee – it’s so tough! E-e it’s so gross!
Ee – it’s so tough! E-e it’s so gross!
